Warriors Ground SF volunteers Marcus and Angie at our table.
Over the weekend, Warriors Ground SF teamed up with EcoCenter at Heron's Head Park in Bayview for the first ever BaySplash festival. The community event aims to celebrate STEM education and environmental justice. Event attendees arrived bright and early for a fun filled day at Heron’s Head Park in San Francisco’s Bayview neighborhood. As the sun was shining and Fleet Week's Blue Angels flew overhead, the day could not have been any more picturesque.
BaySplash guests enjoyed touching starfish and sea anemones at the Aquarium of the Bay exhibit, discovered developments to the Blue Greenway with the San Francisco Parks Alliance, and learned about the Warriors proposed event center in Mission Bay. Many folks were thrilled to learn that the Warriors arena site will include over three acres of public open space and will spur the development of Bayfront Park, a 5.5 acre park complete with paths for walking, biking, and dog-walking.
Big thanks to our volunteers who came out to help spread the word about the Warriors project. We look forward to participating in great community events like BaySplash for years to come!
