On Friday, June 17th, lawyers for the Warriors and the arena-opposing Mission Bay Alliance began oral arguments over whether the team’s proposed 18,000-seat Mission Bay arena was properly vetted during the city’s environmental review. The two sides will also argue over whether the arena and the project’s two mid-rise office buildings comply with voter-approved limits on new office space.
The legal team is feeling confident about the upcoming proceedings, claiming the Warriors have “run the table on all the political and regulatory votes” so far. Warriors spokesperson P.J. Johnston, stated on that the Warriors “expect to be every bit as successful in a court of law as they have been on the basketball court.”
