Warriors Helping Hands in Potrero Hill

On Wednesday July 20, 2016, the Warriors front office gathered at the Portero Hill Recreation Center   as part of the Helping Hands Program. Helping Hands, an employee volunteer program established in 2011, incentivizes team employees to become active in the community by volunteering their time and resources through hands-on service outreach projects.

Warriors staff divided into teams to clear ivy and clean the playground to ensure a safe place for Potrero Hill youth and families to play. In addition to beautifying the park, the Warriors also assembled 120 gift baskets with over $5,000 in school supplies to distribute to teachers throughout San Francisco Unified School District. The team exemplified the importance of coming out of the office to make a difference in the community.

Among those in attendance was Warriors President and COO, Rick Welts.  Welts claimed, ““Shame on us if we don’t take the opportunity to invest back into the community that supports us… we’re lucky to have amazing partners, like San Francisco Recreation and Parks, to help us make an impact in the community.”
