On February 24th, the San Francisco Board of Appeals denied a challenge to the Warriors 577,000 square foot office space allocation at the new Mission Bay arena site, securing another victory for the Chase Center!
The Board of Appeals, a quasi-judicial body that provides the public with a final administrative review process, heard from several Warriors Ground SF community leaders in support of the new arena project during the public comment portion of the meeting. Small business owners, residents, and community stakeholders showed true strength in numbers by stating the positive benefits of the Chase Center to the board. Ultimately, the office space allocation appeal was denied by a vote of 4-1.
In addition to the Board of Appeals, the Warriors arena has won approval from every board, agency and commission in San Francisco that has considered the matter. We can’t wait for the Chase Center to open in 2019!
